Problems solved by technology

[0006] However, most of the decode-relay transmission protocols studied include one or more of the following disadvantages: they require feedback, have to provide channel state information (CSI) to the sender, or account for errors caused by relay without component spread (or just assume it doesn't appear)

Embodiment Construction

[0031]The method according to the invention is represented below as a protocol, in particular a simple AdDF protocol. The present invention provides a simple protocol that simultaneously uses both possibilities offered by wireless relay systems (diversity gain and attenuation reduction (path loss reduction)). Furthermore, the protocol will be analyzed in the description. Decode-relay transmission of at least one intermediate connection The relay station supports transmission from the source to the target; the target combines the signals received from the source and the relay station. A key feature of the proposed system and method is that relay nodes independently decide whether to relay information to a target, thereby minimizing the risk of error propagation while providing practical beneficial diversity gain for communicating over fading channels. Combined with attenuation reduction, this results in a significant gain over direct transmission and also over traditional rela...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for transmitting signals in a wireless relay network. The method and system enable two potentials, which can be offered by wireless relay systems, i.e. diversity gains and attenuation savings, to be exploited simultaneously. The inventive method is characterized in that a relay mounted between the source and the destination decides, independently from information relating to other components of the networks, whether a signal received from the source or from at least one other relay is to be decoded and forwarded. The system is characterized in that the relay comprises a decision unit for the signal decoding and forwarding decision.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to methods and systems for transmitting signals in wireless relay networks. The method is primarily represented by a protocol. The invention uses simultaneously the two possibilities offered by a wireless relay system or a relay system in a wireless environment, ie a wireless network. It involves diversity gains (diversity gains) and path loss reduction (pathloss savings). The relay station (decode-and-forward-relay) for decoding and relaying transmission supports transmission from source to destination. The target combines the signals it obtains from the source and the relay. An essential feature of the invention is that the relay node independently decides whether to relay information to a target. Thereby, the risk of erroneous transmissions is minimized while providing the correct beneficial "diversity gain" for communicating over fading channels. Combined with "path loss reduction", this results in a signi...
