The invention discloses a double-symmetrical-tube-shell type sulfuric acid cooler, and relates to a heat exchanging device for recovering heat in the high-temperature concentrated sulfuric acid cooling process. The double-symmetrical-tube-shell type sulfuric acid cooler comprises two completely-symmetrical and completely-same tube-shell type heat exchanging sections and structurally comprises an acid inlet tube box, the heat exchanging section A, an acid connecting tube box, the heat exchanging section B, an acid outlet tube box and a connecting water tube or steam pocket. If the shell sides of the two heat exchanging sections are connected with the steam pocket, a steam generator is formed, and if the shell sides of the two heat exchanging sections are connected through a tube, a water heater is formed. The temperature values of an acid inlet and an acid outlet and the temperature value of acid in the connecting tube box are measured online, meanwhile, the temperature value of saturated steam or the temperature values of a water inlet and a water outlet and the temperature value of water in the connecting water tube are measured, and the characteristic ratio of the sulfuric acid cooler is calculated through the temperature values. Once leakage occurs, the practical value of the characteristic ratio can be remarkably changed, and therefore the leakage can be monitored.
