Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for the communication between digital family equipments on the basis of a heterogeneous network protocol. Each equipment is connected with data and transmits data through a gateway equipment, the gateway equipment has a protocol conversion layer which is used to analyze a data packet, convert a data packet format to be a format conforming to another protocol interface and is defined above a data protocol layer. After the gateway equipment receives the data packet, the protocol conversion layer analyzes the routing direction transmitted by the data packet. When the data packet is transmitted to the same physical network, the gateway equipment transmits data to the application layer of network; when the data packet requires to be transmitted to different physical network, a routing selection is performed for the data packet, the data packet is analyzed and the data packet format is converted, and a new data packet is transmitted to a destination network. The present invention simplifies the communication between the heterogeneous networks, improves the communication efficiency, and realizes intercommunication for digital families and intelligent homes and the other equipments which use the heterogeneous networks.
