Abstract

A housing assembly (12, 14) is provided for use in an electrical connector assembly (10). The housing includes a body (16, 24) having at least one axial passageway (18a, 18b, 18c, 26a, 26b, 26c) for receiving an electrical connector (22a, 22b, 22c, 30a, 30b, 30c). A position assurance device (32) extends into the at least one axial passageway and is configured to engage a shoulder (56a, 56b, 56c, 90a, 90b, 90c) of the electrical connector to restrict axial movement thereof. A secondary position assurance device (46, 46' ) is received in the body engaging the shoulder of the electrical connector to restrict axial movement thereof.
