Embodiment Construction

[0028] The invention will be explained in more detail below by means of preferred exemplary embodiments and with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0029] First refer to figure 1 Explain the sequence of algorithms executed according to one embodiment of the invention, by which evaluation parameters are determined for evaluating the current driving style with respect to fuel usage and which can be signaled to the driver for guiding said driver to adopt A predictable driving style that saves fuel.

[0030] according to figure 1 , in the case of the algorithm applied according to the exemplary embodiment, the currently measured vehicle speed v is used as an (unfiltered) signal 10 , for example as an average value of the signals from all wheel speed sensors. Furthermore, this signal 10 is processed by a low-pass filtering operation 15 with a filter constant of the order of 2.5 s in order to determine the low-pass filtered vehicle speed v_filter as a further signal 20 . T...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device for assessing the driving style of a motor vehicle driver with respect to fuel usage. The method according to the invention has the following steps: determining a first signal (10) indicative of the current vehicle speed; calculating a second signal (20) by low-pass filtering said first signal; and by evaluating said first signal (10) and said second signal (20) to assess said driving style with respect to fuel use. The present invention can guide drivers to adopt a fuel-efficient and predictable driving style, while involving relatively low computational complexity and requiring no complex sensor systems.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and a device for assessing the driving style of a motor vehicle driver with respect to fuel usage. Background technique [0002] Current CO 2 The issue of emissions has been widely discussed in international politics and scientific research, and in this environment the auto industry has been specifically called upon to reduce its contribution to CO 2 Emissions and the effects of global warming. This can be achieved through the development of fuel-efficient internal combustion engines and drivetrains and alternative carbon dioxide-neutral fuels (CO 2 -neutral fuel) to reduce CO 2 Emissions make a special contribution. [0003] However, there is also great potential to guide motor vehicle drivers through their driving style to contribute to lower fuel consumption. For example, if the driver is driving at a short distance to the vehicle ahead, frequent braking and acceleration events lead to poor fuel utiliza...
