Abstract

The invention discloses a quenching triggering device for a stellarator superconducting magnet, which comprises a superconducting magnet (2) in a low-temperature container (1). One end of an energy transmission rod (4) penetrates through an external corrugated tube (8), an inner corrugated tube (7), an adapter flange (6) and a vacuum interface (5) in sequence; the other end of the energy transmission rod which is at normal temperature is arranged in the low-temperature container and connected with the superconducting magnet (2) through an energy transmission rod fixing structure (3); a mechanical hammer (11) is elevated to a given height under the pulling of a drag rope (14) to store gravitational potential energy; then the mechanical hammer (11) falls downs after the drag rope is loosened; a navigation sheet (12) slides in a groove on a guide rail (9), the mechanical hammer (11) is in collision with the centre of a normal end of the energy transmission rod (4) to transmit the energy to the superconducting magnet (2) through the energy transmission rod (4), thereby triggering the superconducting magnet (2) to quench. The quenching triggering device is suitable for the mechanical stability testing of the stellarator superconducting magnet.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a quench trigger device, in particular to a quench trigger device used for a stellarator superconducting magnet. Background technique [0002] Superconductors can only exhibit superconducting properties when certain conditions are met. Once the conditions are broken, the superconductor changes from a superconducting state to a normal state, a process known as quenching. The quenching of a superconducting magnet usually starts locally in a certain coil, the so-called point disturbance. When the superconducting magnet quenches, the normal state region begins to propagate and diffuse in the superconducting magnet. [0003] The quenching process of a superconducting magnet is the conversion process of electromagnetic energy stored in the superconductor into thermal energy. The area that first turns into a normal state has the longest ohmic heating time and the highest temperature. Local overheating may cause damage to the magnet...
