All symptoms cured by using the traditional Chinese medicine are caused by qi deficiency and blood stasis; dried astragalus root is prized in the prescription for tonifying qi so as to flourish qi and promote blood circulation and removing stagnation to dredge collaterals and not hurt the vital essence, and is used as the monarch medicinal material matched with Chinese angelica to invigorate the circulation of blood under the combinational function of all the other medicinal materials, such that the stagnation is removed as well as good blood is not damaged.
