Abstract

The TCM holds that infantile eczema is caused by dysfunction of spleen in transport, dampness originating from interior and skin penetration. Therefore, the lotion is prepared by selecting rhizoma coptidis, sophora flavescens, forsythia, purslane, Chinese violet, pachyma cocos, atractylis ovata, retuse breynia leaves, thorowort pondweed herb, common yam stems and duckweed, which have the effects of reducing fever, cooling blood and promoting diuresis. By clinical tests, the cure rate and the total effective rate respectively reaches 69.44% and 93.05%, and are superior to the control group, especially the recurrence rate is low, thus the TCM lotion is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
