Abstract

The present invention relates to an intelligent pulse width modulation PWM controller, which reduces the number of external connections, silicon die area and integrated circuit packaging by integrating microcontroller, PWM digital circuit and analog circuit into a single integrated circuit , while adjusting the operating parameters of the switched-mode power supply SMPS system to optimize efficiency, remove hot spots, and isolate faults. A communication interface is used to communicate with a host system for monitoring operating parameters of the SMPS, eg, current, voltage, efficiency, operating temperature, diagnostics, and the like. Furthermore, the communication interface can be used to change operating parameters (targets) of the SMPS during its operation.
