Problems solved by technology

[0003] Crape myrtle blooms only once a year under natural growth conditions, but after the first flowering of crape myrtle, the flowering branches are short-cut and pruned to promote the branches to re-grow new shoots, which can make them bloom twice, thus increasing the time for viewing flowers

Embodiment Construction

[0017] The following examples describe the specific embodiments of the present invention in detail.

[0018] Step 1. During the period before the temperature drops to zero after the leaves fall off in the first autumn, the roots of Lagerstroemia crape myrtle are topdressed in rings with bean cake or decomposed chicken manure plus phosphorus fertilizer as the base fertilizer;

[0019] Step 2: When the crape myrtle branches grow to 30-40cm long in the spring of the second year, select one-third of the crape myrtle branches at an even angle for short-circuiting, keep the length of 10cm for the short-connection, and keep two-thirds of the branches to form the first flowering the first set of branches of

[0020] In the third step, after the short-connected branches germinate, keep 1 to 2 strong secondary branches to form the second group of flowering branches.

[0021] The fourth step, when the first group of branches start to bloom, spray foliage with 0.3% potassium dihydrogen p...

Abstract

The invention discloses a cultivation technology for keeping crape myrtle blooming continuously. The cultivation technology specially comprises the steps that firstly, after leaves fall in the autumn of the first year and before air temperature is decreased to zero degree, base fertilizer is annularly applied to the roots of the crape myrtle in a topdressing mode; secondly, when branches of the crape myrtle grow to 30-40cm in length in the spring of the second year, one third of the branches of the crape myrtle are selected for cutting-back, the parts, 10cm in length, of one third of the branches are kept during cutting-back, and two thirds of the branches, which are reserved, constitute a first set of branches which bloom firstly; thirdly, the cutting-back branches constitute a second set of blooming branches after sprouting; fourthly, when the first set of branches starts to bloom, 0.3% monopotassium phosphate and 0.2% urea are sprayed on leaves, and a foundation is laid for blooming of the second set of branches. According to the cultivation technology, by means of grouping and pruning of the branches of the crape myrtle, fertilizer supplement and other measures, the crape myrtle can bloom continuously as long as four months, the full-bloom stage of the crape myrtle can be kept around the National Day, a festive atmosphere can be added to the National Day, and an ornamental effect of the crape myrtle is improved greatly.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a cultivation technique for maintaining continuous flowering of Lagerstroemia indica.
