Abstract

The embodiments of the invention disclose a charging method and system based on an OPenFlow protocol. The method comprises: a n interface protocol OpenFlow switch between a route control surface and a data surface receiving a session request; according to a preset charging rule, the OpenFlow switch performing charging data collection on a session through a charging parameter obtained by an OpenFlow interface; the OpenFlow switch sending collected charging data to a charging system to enable the charging system to perform charging according to the charging data. According to the embodiments of the invention, through adding a charging function to the OpenFlow interface and the OpenFlow switch, application of the OpenFlow protocol in a service provider especially in a mobile communication network can be realized, so that an OpenFlow can be used in a communication network so be adaptive to a new architecture and a new function of a future mobile network.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of communication technology, in particular to a method and system for charging based on the OpenFlow protocol (an interface protocol used between a routing control plane and a data plane). Background technique [0002] Routing protocols, such as the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol, are running in traditional routers. Routing protocols can generate routing tables based on network topology information, and routing tables are the basis of routing forwarding. Because the routing protocol needs to know the information of all nodes or subnets on the network, the size of the routing table is very large. With the development of the network, the rapid expansion of the routing table will bring the problem of routing convergence. When a router in the network, especially a router at a key node, fails, it may cause the entire network to be paralyzed, leading to the important technology of network paralysis. The r...
