Abstract

The invention discloses a method for improving the availability of a DB2 DPF. The method is used for the DPF including N nodes and comprises steps of: allocating NAS network storage to the N nodes in order that a sqllib control file in the DPF is stored in the NAS network storage; creating M failed resource sets; dividing the N nodes into M groups; configuring partition resources corresponding to M groups of nodes to the M failed resource sets one to one; and when any one of the N nodes is faulted, transferring the failed resource set corresponding to the faulted node to any other normally-operating node. An application of a client may acquire the partition resource corresponding to the faulted node by accessing the node provided with the failed resource set corresponding to the faulted node, thereby guaranteeing that data service can be still normally provided for an external unit when a single node is faulted and improving the availability of DPF.
