Abstract

The invention discloses a video data transmission method and system. The method comprises the following steps that: a video data transmitting end performs Reed-Solomon (RS) coding on each frame of image data of a first system format in video data, and converts the image data being subjected to RS coding into transmission data of a second system format; and when the transmission data are received, a receiving end converts the transmission data into the first system format, performs RS decoding on the transmission data of the first system format to restore the transmission data into the image data, and integrates the received image data into the video data. According to the video data transmission method and system, the transmitting end performs RS coding on the image data of the first system format, and converts the image date into the second system format to transmit the image data of the second system format. The receiving end receives the data of a second system, converts the data of the second system into the first system format, and performs RS decoding on the data of the first system forma, so that the first and second system formats can be selected according to a code rate of image data to be transmitted and a transmission requirement; an error correction rate is increased; and an anti-jamming capability is enhanced.
