Abstract

The preparing method mainly includes the following steps that earthworms are bred, and the wormcast is collected; dewatering and drying are carried out, wherein the wormcast is stored in a rain and sun shielding mode till the water content is lower than 40%, and coconut shells are stacked in the open air and dried in the sun; the coconut shells are smashed into coco coir with the particle diameter of 0.4 cm to 0.5 cm; the wormcast is screened with a sieve of 10 mesh to 18 mesh ready for use; the screened wormcast and the screened coco coir are mixed and prepared into the substrate in the weight ratio of (3-4):(1-2), and the substrate is bagged and stored. According to the preparing method, the wormcast seedling culturing substrate is provided for vegetables, watermelons and melons; in other words the coco coir is added into the wormcast, and the mixture is directly used for seedling culturing of vegetables, watermelons and melons. Compared with other substrates, the substrate has the different advantages that the disease and pest resistance of cucurbits and vegetables is enhanced through effective microbial communities in the wormcast, and particularly the resistance to successive-cropping-obstacle diseases and pests is enhanced; fertilizers are not required.
