The method comprises the steps of receiving a command of uploading a file to a server, obtaining a to-be-uploaded file, and partitioning the file according to a formula Y=N-X*(n-1) until Y is less than X, wherein N is a set fixed partitioning value, X is a set progressive decrease value, n is the current partitioning times; uploading the partitions one by one, detecting whether the uploading is successful, if the situation that all partitions are uploaded successfully, is detected, ending; otherwise partitioning again and uploading the parts of the file that are not uploaded successfully according to the above formula until all of the file is uploaded successfully. According to the present invention, the file uploading success rate of the mobile terminal is improved, the repeated uploading work brought by the uploading failure is reduced, and further the overall time and flow needed to upload the file are saved.
