Embodiment Construction

[0026] figure 1 A substrate 10 in the form of a garment is shown held by holders (not shown). A portion 16 of the button is to be attached to the substrate 10 . For this, a tine ring 18 with ring 20 and tines is used. The tine ring 18 has two or more tines. In this embodiment, the tine ring has a plurality of tines, three of which are referenced 22 , 24 , 26 .

[0027] figure 1 The attachment device shown in includes an upper die 28 and a lower die 30 . The lower mold 30 is positioned to approach the underside of the substrate 10 . The upper mold is located on the upper side of the substrate 10 . Such as figure 1 As shown in , the substrate 10 is placed in a manner substantially perpendicular to the movement for attachment of the upper mold 28 and the lower mold 30 .

[0028] The attach process is as follows: from figure 1 Starting from the position shown, the lower die 30 is raised, thereby pushing the tines 22, 24 and 26 of the tine ring 18 through the base material...

Abstract

The present invention provides a device for attaching an article to a substrate using a tine ring having a ring and two or more tines. When attached, the tines extend through the substrate from the loop on the first side of the substrate and are bent. The lower mold is positioned proximate to the first side of the substrate. The upper mold is on the second side of the substrate. The substrate is positioned in a manner substantially perpendicular to the movement for attachment of the upper and lower dies and the first redirecting member for redirecting the inwardly bent tines. The first redirecting member cooperates with an abutment member positioned along the path of the tine ring proximate the first side of the substrate for inhibiting movement of the tine ring toward the substrate when the first redirecting member is used.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a device for attaching an article to one or more substrates using a pronged ring having a ring and two or more prongs. Background technique [0002] Devices of the above-mentioned type are known, for example, from JP S52-4170 Y2. The device is used, for example, to attach buttons to clothing. To this end, the tine ring is placed on a first redirecting member, which is a pin with a circular cross-section and a slightly smaller diameter than the ring of the tine ring, so that by positioning the tine ring on the pin And moving the tine ring relative to the pin in the axial direction redirects the inwardly bent tine ring. If the tines of the tine ring are not straight, i.e. if the tines do not extend in the direction in which the upper and lower dies approach each other, the tines may not penetrate the substrate, but bend (further) and stay in the substrate. on the first side, but not pushed through the substrate. This ...
