The calibration coefficient is stored in a metering chip. Simultaneously, when the metering device is not calibrated or fails to acquire the calibration coefficient, the metering device conducts the electric energy metering operation according to a default calibration coefficient acquired through the specification parameter-based table searching process. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the calibration coefficient is automatically calculated, and the labor investment is reduced. The calibration error is calculated by the metering device and is not dependent of a particular calibration meter. The calibration coefficient is acquired through arranging a parameter look-up table, so that the coefficient reliability is improved. The program complexity is reduced.
