The battery early warning fire extinguishing system comprises a gas monitoring device and a fire extinguishing device connected with the gas monitoring device. The gas monitoring device is used for being connected to a battery management system in the battery system and sending early warning signals to the battery management system and fire extinguishing start signals to the fire extinguishing device when it is detected that the concentration of characteristic gas emitted by a battery set in the battery system is larger than the preset threshold value. According to the battery early warning fire extinguishing system and the battery system, the gas monitoring device is used for conducting management control over power supply of the battery set, meanwhile, the fire extinguishing device is used for conducting fire extinguishing on failure batteries, so that fire extinguishing is conducted in time, passive safety protection on the battery set is achieved, and running safety of the battery set is guaranteed.
