The inert powder disclosed by the invention has good capability of adsorbing epidermal lipids of insects, and makes contact and friction with epidermis of the termites, so that the epidermis of the termites are damaged, and the termites dehydrate to die within 4 to 5 hours. According to the inert powder disclosed by the invention, hazard of the termites on building materials can be effectively blocked; the inert powder with the thickness of 3mm or above is uniformly paved; once the termites make contact with the inert powder disclosed by the invention, the action is seriously hindered, the termites cannot penetrate through the inert powder and only can go round or roll around, and then immediately die.
