Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for reducing ringing effects in an X-ray image. The method includes the steps of acquiring the X-ray image by scanning an object, wherein the X-ray image comprises grid line artifacts, applying a first bandwidth filter and a second bandwidth filter to the X-ray images respectively to obtain a filtered first image and a filtered second image, wherein the first bandwidth filter and the second bandwidth filter have different bandwidth, building a weight map according to the X-ray image, and fusing the filtered first image and the filtered second image by using the weight map to obtain an output image. The present invention also discloses a system using the method.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to image processing techniques, and more particularly to a method and system for reducing ringing effects in X-ray images. Background technique [0002] In the existing X-ray image system, the X-ray emitted from the X-ray source can penetrate the object and be imaged, and the primary beam of X-ray can be shot to the digital image detector, thus forming the digital radiography imaging projected image. However, scattered beams are generated when the primary beam passes through the object, and these scattered beams may reduce image contrast and degrade image quality. In order to remove these undesired scattered beams, an anti-scatter grid array is usually used between the X-ray source and the image detector. Existing anti-scatter grid arrays consist of alternating stripes made of an X-ray transparent material such as aluminum or carbon and an X-ray absorbing material such as lead. The anti-scatter grid array pref...
