Quality indexes in main cropping rice and ratooning cropping rice of ratoon rice are detected by virtue of the conventional means at present so as to determine the main cropping rice and the ratooning cropping rice. The percentage of chalky rice, chalkiness degrees, amylose content and alkali spreading values in grains of the ratooning cropping rice have obvious differences from index values in grains of the main cropping rice, the index values of thepercentage of chalky rice and the chalkiness degrees are obviously lower than those in the main cropping rice, and the index values of the amylose content and the alkali spreading values are obviouslyhigher than those in the main cropping rice. According to the application disclosed by the invention, the main cropping rice and ratooning cropping rice of the ratoon rice can be accurately identified, the determination method is simple and convenient, and the determination cost is low.
