Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preying dominant insects of an airport by using araneus ventricosus. The method comprises the following steps: a lawn with a size of 1 m*1 m is selected, nylon mesh covers are prepared, the frame of each mesh cover is fixed by using fine insulating rods to enable the size of the mesh cover to be 1 m*1 m*0.4 m, the bottom of each nylon mesh cover is buried intosoil by about 20 cm; the top is covered with a 40-mesh nylon mesh; the nylon meshes are fixed by using a stapler, and a small hole are leaft for conveniently putting in food; 9 nylon mesh covers are arranged totally; two treatment groups and one control group are arranged according to the differences of natural enemy species; natural enemies of the insects are put into the two treatment groups; asame number of the dominant insects of the airport are put into both the control group and the treatment groups, wherein the dominant insects are popillia indgigonacea motsch of coleopteran, and locusta migratoria manilensis and acrida cinerea of orthoptera; and the activity of the natural enemies and the number of the insects are observed daily. The experiment shows that the insect enemies are introduced into a large area of the airport, one or more kinds of natural enemies can be introduced at a time, the measures such as enveloping and monitoring are carried out, and great research significance to the insect prevention and control and bird control of the airport is achieved.
