The invention discloses a gesture interaction system and method based on color images for mine resource management, wherein the interaction system comprises a computer memory, a computer processor anda computer program which is stored in the computer memory and can be executed on the computer processor, and the computer memory is internally provided with the following modules: a preprocessing module which is used for detecting a hand region in an input image and preprocessing the image containing the hand region; a gesture recognition module which is used for performing gesture recognition onthe image processed by the preprocessing module; a gesture language conversion module which contains a gesture language collection and is used for converting the gesture recognized by the gesture recognition module into a corresponding gesture function in the gesture language collection; and an instruction control module which is used for sending an instruction corresponding to the gesture function to the interaction system according to the gesture function obtained by the gesture language conversion module.
