Abstract

The invention provides a time phase decoding device and a quantum key distribution system comprising the same. The time phase decoding device comprises a beam splitter, two polarization orthogonal rotation reflection devices which are optically coupled with the beam splitter through two arms respectively, a phase modulator and a single single-photon detector. Each reflection device includes a polarization beam splitter having an input port and two output ports, and is coupled to a respective arm via the input port. The two output ports are optically coupled to each other via a transmission optical path including a polarization quadrature rotation device. The single photon detector is coupled to one of the ports of the beam splitter that are not coupled to the two arms for detecting signalsof a first time slot, a second time slot and a third time slot that are consecutive in one pulse period. And the phase modulator is arranged at the front end of the beam splitter, on one of the two arms or on a transmission light path of one reflection device. According to the scheme, polarization-induced fading can be resisted, and the safety problem generated by multiple detectors can be eliminated or reduced.
