Embodiment Construction

[0058] Certain embodiments of the present disclosure propose a method for coordinating resource allocation among network nodes adapted to different RATs. A particular embodiment provides a central unit (CU) in a network node that receives resource coordination messages from neighboring network nodes that are adapted to a different RAT than the network node with the central unit; Aggregating multiple resource allocations received by distributed units (DUs) of the central unit into a single resource allocation message; and sending the resource allocation message back to neighboring network nodes. Therefore, neighboring network nodes can maintain or modify their resource allocations to avoid using the same resources as DUs at the same time. Furthermore, when a CU recognizes that more than one DU intends to use the same resource when it receives a resource allocation from a DU, the CU disclosed in this disclosure can further divide resources.

Abstract

A method for resource sharing comprises receiving, from a first network node adapting a first radio access technology (RAT), a resource coordination message which indicates a first cell served by thefirst network node; coordinating, at a second network node adapting a second RAT, at least one resource allocation for at least one second cell served by the second network node based on the resourcecoordination message; aggregating, at the second network node, the at least one resource allocation into a resource allocation message; and forwarding, to the first network node, the resource allocation message. The method provides a central unit of a network node to perform a resource coordination between the network nodes adapting different RAT.

Description

technical field [0001] Certain embodiments relate to the field of resource sharing; and more particularly to methods, apparatus and systems for inter-RAT resource sharing. Background technique [0002] Currently, the 5G radio access network (RAN) architecture consists of a set of gNBs connected to the 5G core network (5GC) through NG interfaces. figure 1 The current 5G RAN architecture described in TS38.401 is shown. The characteristics of the NG architecture are further described as follows: (1) NG-RAN includes a group of gNBs connected to 5GC through NG; (2) gNBs can support frequency division duplex (FDD) mode, time division duplex (TDD) mode or dual Mode operation; (3) gNB can be interconnected through Xn; (4) gNB can include gNB Central Unit (CU) and gNB Distributed Unit (DU); (5) gNB-CU and gNB-DU are connected via F1 logical interface; And (6) one gNB-DU is connected to only one gNB-CU. [0003] NG, Xn and F1 are logical interfaces. For NG-RAN, the NG and Xn-C int...
