Abstract

The ivnention relates to an array logging tool in the side direction with various layering capabilities. It includes a multi-signal source, multiple groups of shielded electrodes, a monitoring device, a main electrode group, voltage measuring and processing set, and main electrode current detecting and processing set. The multi-signal source produces multiple working signals with different frequencies. Each group of shielded electrodes sends working signal to different layer of earth, meanwhile forms focusing electric field. The monitoring device receives and magnifies first working signal transmitted by multiple groups of shielded electrodes. The main electrode group includes a central electrode and multiple pairs of electrodes arranged outwards for signal refocusing. One measurement in the invention can obtain 12 apparent resistivity curves that describes the geology in detail, explains layers of earth in the orientation analysis, gives quantitative explanations to the problems of layers and alternate laminar layers.
