The invention relates to a tongue color image processing technique used to diagnose tongue, wherein the invention is characterized in that: it uses two steps to extract the tongue, that first obtaining the rough profile of tongue, then using two-dimension deformation profile model to accurately cut the image; in the first step, using divide transformation to process the red channel of image, to obtain rouge tongue profile; when processing, first using saturated threshold value to obtain the mark image, and using mark image to minimize the ladder image, to obtain the image need cutting; then using divide transformation method to treat the cut image on the sample-point-gray value curvature of longitudinal section; division transforming to obtain one group formed by the divisions of each longitudinal section; one connecting area of divisions is the tongue area, while its boundary is the tongue rough profile.
