Abstract

A communication interface facilitates connection of a plurality of wireless USB compatible hosts with at least a WUSB device in a wireless USB environment at the same time. The communication interface includes a host detector that detects the presence of an active host or a plurality of active hosts, a host communicator for establishing wireless USB connection with a plurality of hosts, and a controller for causing time division multiplexed (TDM) data communication between active hosts and at least one device.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to data communication interface and, more particularly, to data communication interface for WUSB applications and communication devices incorporating same.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Wireless USB (WUSB) is a logical evolution of USB and has become an important standard for many applications because of its various advantages, including flexibility in deployment. The physical layer (“PHY”) of WUSB is described in the Multiband OFDM Aliance (MBOA) UWB PHY specification-“Multiband OFDM Physical Layer Specification” (Revision 1.) Jan. 14, 2005, WiMedia Alliance, which is incorporated herein by reference. PHY currently supports data rates of 53.3, 80, 106.7, 160, 200, 320, 400 and 480 Mb / s and multiple channels.
