Abstract

The invention provides a portable grain analyzer that is based on digital image processing technology. The analyzer comprises a mechanic-electric feeding system, a digital imaging system, and an image processing and data analysis system. The grains entered into the mechanic-electric feeding system will be imaged by the digital imaging system, then the imaged signals are transmitted to the image processing and data analysis system. The mechanic-electric feeding system and the digital imaging system operate under control by a computer through an image collecting and a system controlling circuit board. The mechanic-electric feeding system has a funnel, under which, a distributing plate connected with a vibrator is provided; below the distributing plate, a rotary platform for receiving grains is provided; on the rotary platform, a scraping piece is provided; under the rotary platform, a collector is provided; above the rotary platform, the digital imaging system is provided. The analyzer can automatically feed samples, is of small size, easy to operate, of high efficiency and low cost, and will not damage the sample. The invention is applicable for classification, identification, true and false verification, and quality inspection of rice and similar grains and beans.
