Problems solved by technology

[0036] A second possibility is to encode SCI and DCI separately
This has the disadvantage that L1 / L2 control signaling needs to be transmitted for each retransmission, i.e. SCI and DCI must be transmitted
If, for example, 20% of all transmissions in the system are retransmissions, the L1 / L2 control signaling overhead increases by the same amount compared to synchronous ARQ operation

Embodiment Construction

[0067] Figure 8 A flowchart illustrating a method of transmission according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown.

[0068] In step 110, resource block candidates for potential transmission of data packets to a receiver are selected. Multiple resource blocks are allocated dynamically in at least one of time domain, code domain or frequency domain or in combination (preferably, time domain / frequency domain or time domain / code domain).

[0069] When a candidate is selected, at least one allocated RB is used to transmit the data packet according to the RB candidate selected at step 110 (step 120).

[0070] Finally, the transmitter receives feedback information about the data packets from the receiver, such as acknowledgment or non-acknowledgment messages, or channel quality information. Based on this feedback message, the transmitter may adapt or change the selection strategy performed in step 110 regarding resource block candidates for the next transmission, whic...

Abstract

A method of transmitting data packets over a plurality of dynamically allocated resource blocks in at least one or a combination of a time, code or frequency domain on a shared channel of a wireless communication system, comprises the steps of selecting a number of resource block candidates for potential transmission of data packets destined for a receiver and transmitting the data packet to the receiver using at least one allocated resource block from the selected resource block candidates. The invention also relates to a corresponding method of decoding data packets, a transmitter, receiver and communication system.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to shared channel transmission using packet-scheduled ARQ in mobile / wireless communication systems. In particular, it is suitable for downlink transmission in OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) using Automatic Repeat reQuest (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access). Background technique [0002] In a wireless communication system using packet scheduling, at least a part of air interface resources are dynamically allocated to different users (mobile stations, MS). Typically, these dynamically allocated resources are mapped to at least one SDCH (Shared Data Channel), where the SDCH corresponds to, for example, the following configuration: [0003] One or more codes in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system are dynamically shared among multiple MSs. Alternatively, one or more subcarriers (subbands) in an OFDMA system are dynamically shared among multiple MSs. [0004] A combination of the a...
