Problems solved by technology

[0006] The disadvantage of this solution is: as the number of PPPoE clients increases, the workload of static route configuration becomes larger, and PPPoE clients have the characteristics of dynamic access, which increases the complexity of static route configuration.
[0008] The disadvantage of this solution is that the traditional IPv4 protocol does not have strict dynamic routing protocol requirements for BRAS and CE. BRAS is a special device, which is different from traditional routers and generally does not support dynamic routing protocols. Running a dynamic routing protocol such as Open Shortest Path First Version 3 (OSPFv3, Open Shortest Path First Version 3) can lead to complex configuration and overloaded equipment
[0010] The disadvantage of this solution is: PPPoE is suitable for WAN, and ND is a protocol based on the multicast capability of LAN. Using ND in WAN will cause a large burden of multicast packets, and the BRAS needs to learn a huge number of ND entries. In addition, because the IPv6 prefix of the interface connected to the CE on the BRAS side must be consistent with the link-local address prefix of the ADSL interface on the CE, the configuration of the IPv6 prefix on the interface connected to the CE on the BRAS side is not flexible enough.

Embodiment Construction

[0041] The present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the drawings and specific embodiments.

[0042] figure 2 This is a flowchart of a PPPoE-based IPv6 route establishment method provided by an embodiment of the present invention, such as figure 2 As shown, the specific steps are as follows:

[0043] Step 201: Configure an IPv6 prefix pool on the BRAS, which contains multiple IPv6 prefixes that are different from each other.

[0044] Here, the network manager can configure the IPv6 prefix pool on the BRAS, and the network manager can also configure the association relationship between the PPPoE user name of the CE and the IPv6 prefix on the BRAS.

[0045] Step 202: Any CE (set as CE1) goes online and establishes a PPPoE session with the BRAS through the PPPoE discovery process.

[0046] The PPPoE discovery process is as follows:

[0047] 01: CE1 broadcasts a PPPoE effective discovery initial (PADI) message, which contains a Service-Name tag to prop...

Abstract

The invention discloses an IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) routing establishing method based on Ethernet Point-to-Point Protocol and an access server. The method comprises steps as follows: an IPv6 prefix pool is configured on a BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server), and the BRAS (Customer Edge) establishes a PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) session with a CE so as to carry out PPPoE negotiation and authentication process with the CE; the BRAS receives a DHCPv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6) request message transmitted by the CE, returns one prefix taken from the IPv6 prefix pool to the CE, meanwhile, adds the prefix into the local IPv6 routing table and sets the next hop of the prefix as the PPPoE interface local link address of the CE, so that the CE distributes the prefix to a first user host, and thus, the first user host generates the local IPv6 address according to the prefix and exchanges IPv6 data messages with other user hosts by using the IPv6 address; and the BRAS forwards the IPv6 data messages according to the local IPv6 routing table. By using the invention, the BRAS can successfully forward the downlink IPv6 flow without supporting dynamic routing protocol and ND proxy function, and the configuration load of the BRAS is lowered.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of access control, in particular to an IPv6 route establishment method based on the Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) and a broadband remote access server (BRAS, Broadband Remote Access Server). Background technique [0002] Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE, Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) is most suitable as an access control protocol. With the deployment of IPv6 networks, it is imperative for PPPoE to support IPv6. [0003] figure 1 A networking diagram for a simple corporate network to access the Internet, such as figure 1 As shown, the broadband remote access server (BRAS, Broadband Remote Access Server) is a PPPoE server, and the customer equipment (CE, Customer Equipment) is an enterprise gateway. In practice, BRAS generally accesses a considerable number of CEs, which is point-to-multipoint. Networking mode. In an IPv4 network, the local area network address on the CE...
