However, these are all for TC itself, and it is impossible to judge the potential impact of TC on a certain region
As for the basic climate characteristics of TC’s impact on a certain area, in the current research, only the frequency and intensity of landfall or impact are analyzed, which cannot comprehensively express the impact of TC on the area
Due to the wide range of influence of TC, there may be situations where the center of TC does not pass through this area but can also have a greater impact on this area
Therefore, when studying the impact of TCs on the region, it is obviously not comprehensive enough to only consider the case where the TC center passes by

Embodiment Construction

[0030] The present invention will be further clarified through the detailed description of specific embodiments below, but it is not intended to limit the present invention, but only for illustration.

[0031] On August 10, 2006, No. 0608 typhoon "Sangmei" landed on the coast of Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province. When it landed, the maximum wind speed near the center reached 60m / s, and the central air pressure was 920hPa. It was extremely destructive and beyond the capacity of people. 483 people died due to the disaster, and the direct economic loss reached 19.658 billion yuan, of which the losses in Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Hubei were 12.73, 6.355, 550, and 230 million yuan, respectively. In this embodiment, the 6-hour path segment of No. 0608 super typhoon "Sangmei" is taken as an example, and a 1°×1° grid is taken as the research area to specifically introduce the calculation process of TCPI.

[0032] According to the mean maximum mean wind speed near the center of th...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for measuring the potential destructiveness of a tropical cyclone (TC). The method comprises the following steps of: (1) measuring the maximum average wind speed at a central position of the optimal route of the TC every six hours according to a route of the TC; (2) determining an influence range of the TC; and (3) calculating a tropical cyclone potential impact (TCPI) index, and determining the potential destructiveness of the tropical cyclone. By the method, the potential destructiveness of each tropical cyclone can be monitored and evaluated; the impact of a typhoon disaster can be evaluated objectively, scientifically and accurately according to the destructiveness of the tropical cyclone in one region, so people can defense the typhoon disaster to reduce casualties and property economic losses caused by the typhoon cyclone; therefore, the typhoon defense capacity can be improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for measuring the potential destructive power of a tropical cyclone, which belongs to the field of meteorology. Background technique [0002] A tropical cyclone (Tropical Cyclone, TC) is a cyclonic vortex that occurs in tropical or subtropical oceans, often accompanied by strong winds, heavy rains, and storm surges. It is a highly destructive weather system with high frequency, It has the characteristics of wide range of influence, strong suddenness, and high disaster intensity. It mainly affects the southeast coastal areas of our country. These areas are densely populated, economically developed, and social wealth is highly concentrated. They are one of the most serious natural disasters in our country. The impact of TC disasters is very huge. For example, in 2006, the severe tropical storm "Bilis" landed in Xiapu County, Fujian Province, causing 843 deaths and direct economic losses of 34.83 billion yuan. According...
