A method for caching data on a client in cloud storage is disclosed. The method comprises the following steps that: the data is cached in a physical folder under a client root directory and the data is uploaded to the cloud; in a client directory, a database of metadata is established, wherein the metadata comprises data logic file information corresponding to the data; a user acquires the metadata from the database and obtains the data logic file according to the metadata; the corresponding data is obtained through the data logic file from the physical folder or the cloud; logic positions of the data correspond with the cached metadata of the client in a one-to-one manner. By using the method in an embodiment of the invention, a speed for the user to acquire the data can be increased.
