Embodiment Construction

[0034] figure 1 A top view showing a lighting unit with multiple regions of light emitting diodes. The lighting unit 1 comprises a circuit board 2 on which light emitting diodes and corresponding wiring are arranged. The light emitting diodes are represented by squares and are located in the center of the circuit board 2 .

[0035] figure 2 A magnified view of the center of the board is shown. Light emitting diodes can be distinguished by their size. The large light-emitting diodes have a side length of 0.98 mm, the medium-sized light-emitting diodes have a side length of 0.58 mm and the small light-emitting diodes have a side length of 0.28 mm. A plurality of light-emitting diode regions and a plurality of individual light-emitting diodes are provided on the printed circuit board 2 . The light-emitting diode area 11 has 49 large light-emitting diodes and is arranged in the lower half and vertically in the center of the circuit board. Arranged to the right of the light-...

Abstract

A motor vehicle headlamp is provided with a first array of light-emitting diodes, which are activated by a first actuation unit for a first lighting function. The headlamp also exhibits a second array of light-emitting diodes, which are activated by a second actuation unit for a second lighting function. Additionally provided is a flat printed-circuit board with conducting paths for connecting light-emitting diodes with one of the respective actuation units. The light-emitting diodes are accommodated together on one side of the printed-circuit board.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an automobile headlamp. Automotive headlights provide a variety of lighting functions. These lighting functions are, for example, low beam and high beam. Background technique [0002] It is also known to use light-emitting diodes in headlights instead of, for example, xenon lamps. But there is only limited space in a car for headlights. A headlight with a plurality of light-emitting diodes as light sources is described in DE 10 2007 031 934 A1. However, it is difficult to arrange a sufficient number of light emitting diodes in a limited space so that a prescribed light intensity can be achieved. In addition, LEDs generate power losses, so heat dissipation is also an issue. Contents of the invention [0003] The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a motor vehicle headlight which is operated by means of light-emitting diodes and has sufficient light intensity. [0004] The invention relat...
