According to the method and the device for determining the eye state, provided by the embodiment of the invention, the eye opening template is determined according to the proportion of the sclera region in the eye image showing the sclera, and can be accurately and rapidly determined in real time, thus the eye state can be accurately and rapidly determined according to the eye opening template.
