Abstract

The invention discloses application of punicalin in preparation of medicine for treating or preventing hepatitis C virus infection. An antivirus test is performed by selecting basically non-toxic medicine concentration, the influence of punicalin on copy of hepatitis C virus is detected, and the compound has obvious hepatitis C virus resistant activity and has a dose-dependent effect. The further experiment proves that the punicalin can prevent HCV from being adsorbed and invading the target cells, so that the entrance and reinfection of HCV are inhibited; and meanwhile, the compound also can obviously reduce the activity of HCVNS3 serine protease. Thus, when being independently used or combined with other anti-HCV medicines, the punicalin can play an important role in the process of preventing or treating hepatitis C virus infection.
