Abstract

A portable rain gauge calibration system is an automatic detecting instrument, which can be used for detecting the rain gauge on the spot at an outdoor mounting site. The complete machine of the portable rain gauge calibration system is an aluminum-wrapped instrument box, and can be carried by hands of a single person; two lithium battery packs are arranged inside the box for power supply; two kinds of standard simulated rainfall, namely, 10 mm (314 ml) and 30 mm (942 ml) are provided; five kinds of standard simulated raininess, namely, drizzle: 0.5 mm/min, moderate rain: 1.0 mm/min or 2.0 mm/min, and heavy rain: 4.0 mm/min or 6.0 mm/min, can be provided; the portable rain gauge calibration system is equipped with a self-contained water container, an injection pump, a charging pump and a drainage (metering) pump, and has functions of automatic water injection, automatic water charging, and automatic drainage detection. When the rain gauge is detected on site, the detection task can be fulfilled only through placing the machine box on a rain receiving mouth of the rain gauge and operating relative control switches on a control panel.
