Abstract

An embodiment of the invention discloses a data transmission method and a data transmission system which are used for data transmission between a BBU (base band unit) and an RRU (remote radio unit) and especially for frequency domain data transmission in CPRI (common public radio interface). The method includes that the BBU transmits frequency domain data of an MIMO (multiple input multiple output) coding to the RRU through the CPRI via multiple antennas; the RRU receives the frequency domain data transmitted by the BBU through the CPRI; the RRU performs OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) symbol generating processing on the frequency domain data received by the CPRI so as to enable the frequency domain data to be converted into time domain data. By the data transmission method, speed of the CPRI can be remarkably decreased, a CPRI bandwidth can be dynamically adjusted by a communication system according to use condition of load and frequency resources, and accordingly the CPRI bandwidth can be lowered.
