Benefits of technology

This patented technology prevents certain crops from being damaged by harmful microorganisms due to their ability to produce antibiosis agents called methylphenidate (MPH). By combining an ingredient with another substance like mepristone for longer periods without losing its efficacy overtime, this new compound can be used against various types of disease causing damage such as wheat rusting caused by fungi.

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes different methods for controlling harmful algae such as barleyweargrass (Agrocybea), citrus rust disease caused by Xanthomonas axonorium phytosporum, rice sheath rot fever, whale beetle bug mitigating herpes viruses like HSV-1, Herpes Simplex Virus type 1(HSV1), Helvitzia spiroformans, Schizoflagellate Cord Loydriaceae, Spodaria tomentosa, Laminarin Biosynthesis Pathway, Eichlorella acid esters, Saccharomyces ceramicsiphonse A monoacridone derivative, Quaternary ammoniumsulfonic acids, Acacia glycerols, Tobramycete polygmitims, Bacitrol chelates, Natural Phenomenal Growth Regulators (PGR) including betaine and lignocaine. However, these traditional preservatives can cause damage to certain types of crops due to residues left over after harvesting them. To address this issue, research efforts were focused towards developing new alternatives containing lesser amounts of chemically synthesizable materials while maintaining efficacy against various pathogen attackants.

Abstract

The invention discloses a plant-derived bactericidal composition. The plant-derived bactericidal composition is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 0.1-1% of eugenol, 0.1-1% of sophocarpidine, 1%-10% of a wetting agent, 1-10% of a dispersant and the balance being a carrier. The invention also discloses application of the plant-derived bactericidal composition in prevention and treatment of grape downy mildew, grape powdery mildew, strawberry powdery mildew and cucumber powdery mildew.According to the plant-derived bactericidal composition, the condition that a sophocarpidine or eugenol single preparation is inferior to a chemical pesticide in bactericidal effect, and drug resistance is easy to induce if the sophocarpidine or eugenol single preparation is used for a long time can be avoided, and the service time of the preparation is prolonged; according to the plant-derived bactericidal composition, eugenol and sophocarpidine are combined to produce a good synergistic effect, and therefore, the bactericidal effect is obviously improved, the dosage of the composition is reduced and the cost is reduced; besides, the protection and treatment effect on crop diseases is improved and the bacteriocidal spectrum is expanded.
