Abstract

An oblique slicing section top-coal-caving coal mining method for a steeply pitching coal seam is disclosed. The method includes following steps: (1) dividing sections along the pitching direction of the coal seam; (2) respectively digging a transportation roadway and a return airway on a top plate and a base plate in each section, and communicating to form a U-shaped ventilation stope working face, with the angle alpha between the stoping working face and the horizontal plane being not more than 40 degrees; (3) arranging a fully mechanized caving support, a front scraper conveyer, a back scraper conveyer, a coal cutter, and other devices on the stoping working face; (4) allowing the coal cutter to cut coal along the stoping working face by back and forth movement, allowing the cut coal to drop into the front scraper conveyer, and conveying the cut coal out; (5) opening a coal discharging opening of the fully mechanized caving support to allow caved top coal to drop into the back scraper conveyer, and to be conveyed out; and (6) moving the fully mechanized caving support, the front scraper conveyer and the back scraper conveyer forward along with the coal cutter.
