Abstract

The invention belongs to a design technique of a nuclear power plant and specifically relates to a system for finally guaranteeing functions of a containment vessel and preventing large-scale radioactive release and a method thereof. The system comprises a containing space arranged outside the containment vessel. The containing space is connected with the containment vessel through a pipeline arranged inside an underground pipe gallery. The pipeline is provided with an isolating valve. A pressure-relief air inlet connected with the pipeline is disposed inside the containment vessel. A check valve, a filter unit and an exhaust fan which are connected with the pipeline are arranged inside the containing space. When a serious accident happens in a nuclear power plant and a containment vessel fails to release heat and reduce pressure, the system provided by the invention can be adopted to reduce pressure of the containment vessel effectively and prevent overtemperature and overpressure failure of the containment vessel and large-scale radioactive release caused by the failure or reduce radioactive release to the environment when the containment vessel has failed.
