Abstract

The sole structure includes at least one plate. At least one plate includes a first portion (150) located in the forefoot region (101) of the sole structure and a second portion (152) located in the rearward region (107) of the sole structure. At least one compressible midsole component (140a, 140b) may be coupled to the at least one plate. A linkage (180a, 180b) couples the first and second portions (150, 152) and is configured to bias the first and second portions away from each other during flexion of the sole structure.

Description

[0001] relevant application data [0002] This application claims the benefit of priority based on US Patent Application Serial No. 13 / 830,758, filed March 14, 2013, and entitled "Sole Structures and Articles Incorporating Same." This priority application is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to sole structures and articles incorporating sole structures. Background technique [0004] Conventional articles of athletic footwear often include an upper and a sole structure. The upper provides a covering for the foot that securely receives and positions the foot relative to the sole structure. The sole structure is typically secured to the lower surface of the upper and is positioned between the foot and the ground (or other contacting surface) during wear of a shoe incorporating the upper and sole structure. The sole structure may include a midsole and an outsole. The midsole helps control foot movement an...
