A user may enter a navigation scheme consistent with a predetermined sequence of user inputs to the switches (32), wherein readiness for each successive input is indicated by a light source (36). A navigation mode is managed for navigating the vehicle according to the entered navigation scheme. An encoder (18) or sensor may sense the steering angle of the steering system.
