Abstract

A purpose of the invention is to provide a freshness preservation method of passion fruits. The freshness preservation method of the passion fruits is used for preserving fresh passion fruits; in the method, no chemical additives or preservatives, mildew proof agents and the like are added, no artificial fruit wax is used, and the preserved passion fruits are mellow in fragrances. A passion fruit preservative agent used in the freshness preservation method is composed of the following ingredients in percentage by weight: 80-100% of passion fruit peel extract, 0-15% of passion fruit seed extract and 0-5% of sodium alginate. The freshness preservation method of the passion fruits is characterized by comprising the following steps: (1), picking passion fruits which are 70-80 percent mature; (2), washing off impurities and dirt on surfaces of the passion fruits by using running water; (3), air-drying moistures on the surfaces of the washed passion fruits at normal temperature until no wet feeling exist by touching with the hands, wherein the moistures of the air-dried passion fruits are 100-105% of the moistures of the unwashed fresh passion fruits; (4), irradiating the fresh passion fruits by gamma rays or 10MeV electron beams; (5), directly soaking the irradiated fresh passion fruits in the preservative agent which is prepared from passion fruit extracts for 3-10 seconds, wherein the passion fruits are covered by the preservative agent; and (6), air-drying the soaked fresh passion fruits at normal temperature until no wet feeling exist by touching with the hands, wherein the moistures of the air-dried passion fruits are 102-110% of the moistures of the unwashed fresh passion fruits.
