Abstract

The invention provides an optical OFDM signal coded modulation and demodulation system and method based on a polarization code. The system comprises a polarization code coding unit, a high-order mapping unit, a sub-carrier mapping unit, a pilot frequency obtaining unit, an OFDM modulation unit, an optical transmitting and receiving unit, an OFDM demodulation unit, a sub-carrier recovery unit, a high-order demapping unit and a polarization code decoding unit. After being coded through the polarization code, user information is mapped to a corresponding carrier through high-order modulation mapping; conversion from a frequency-domain signal to a time-domain signal is realized after IFFT; then, the signal is modulated onto a channel to transmit; a receiving end recovers the original user signal after performing FFT, sub-carrier signal recovery, high-order soft demodulation and SC decoding of the polarization code of the signal; and thus, transmission of the whole system is realized. According to the optical OFDM signal coded modulation and demodulation system and method disclosed by the invention, the polarization code is combined with high-order modulation and carrier mapping; available spectrum resources in the system can be applied flexibly; due to introduction of the high-order modulation technology, the information transmission rate is improved; and, due to introduction of the polarization code, the information transmission reliability is improved.
