The invention relates to a composition for assisting reduction of blood sugar as well as a method for preparing an oral liquid beverage, a solid particle beverage or an effervescent tablet. The composition comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-50 parts of mulberry leaves, 10-20 parts of male flowers of eucommia, 10-20 parts of leaves of Cyclocarya paliurus, 5-10 parts of corn silk, 5-10 parts of astragali roots, 5-10 parts of Phaeoporus obliquus, and 5-10 parts of Dendrobium officinale.
