The invention provides a method for transient overexpression of exogenous genes on cyclocarya paliurus leaves, which comprises the following steps: carrying out double enzyme digestion on a target gene and an overexpression vector, and connecting the target gene and the overexpression vector by using ligase; transforming the recombinant overexpression vector into agrobacterium tumefaciens, and coating an LB solid culture medium with the agrobacterium tumefaciens; propagating the monoclone in an LB liquid culture medium; after the agrobacterium tumefaciens is collected, discarding the supernatant, and resuspending with the infection liquid to obtain an agrobacterium tumefaciens infection liquid; the method comprises the following steps: scratching leaf backs and leaf stems of cyclocarya paliurus, infecting leaves with an agrobacterium infection solution, or wrapping scratched parts with cotton absorbing the agrobacterium infection solution for infection. The invention further provides application of the method, and the exogenous gene is the CpSnRK1 alpha gene of the cyclocarya paliurus. The method has the advantages that a simple, convenient and efficient exogenous gene transient overexpression method for cyclocarya paliurus leaves is established for the first time, effectiveness of the method is verified through application of the CpSnRK1alpha gene, and potential possibility is provided for follow-up improvement of cyclocarya paliurus varieties through gene regulation and control.
