Abstract

The invention discloses a maize molecular marker and application thereof to detection of relevant characters of the blossoming period of maize. The maize molecular marker is (A1) or (A2) or (A3), wherein (A1) is a DNA fragment expressed as the sites 42-401 in a sequence 1 of a sequence table; (A2) is a DNA fragment obtained by substituting and/or deleting and/or adding one or several nucleotides of the DNA fragment of (A1); the homoousia between the DNA fragment of (A2) and the nucleotide sequence defined by (A1) is 90% or is greater than 90%; (A3) comprises the DNA fragment of the (A1) or (A2). Experiments prove that the blossoming period, the plant height and the leaf number of the maize with two chromosomes which contain the DNA fragment expressed as the sites 42-401 in the sequence 1 of the sequence table are obviously less than that of the maize with two chromosomes which do not contain the DNA fragment expressed as the sites 42-401 in the sequence 1 of the sequence table, so thatthe experiments show that the maize molecular marker can be used for identifying the blossoming period, the plant height and the leaf number of the maize.
