Abstract

The invention discloses a load pump based pump turbine performance testing device. The device comprises a water tank, a booster pump, a frequency converter, a load pump, a torquemeter and a pump turbine, wherein the booster pump is driven through a motor. The booster pump is driven by the motor to generate high pressure liquid; part of the high pressure liquid flows back to the water tank, and therest part of the high pressure liquid enters the pump turbine through a division valve; the flow rate of the high pressure liquid flowing into the pump turbine is controlled by adjusting an outlet valve and the division pump of the booster pump; the high pressure liquid flowing into the pump turbine is used for driving the pump to negatively rotate and output power; the torquemeter is capable ofdriving the load pump to rotate; the liquid enters the load pump through an inlet valve of the load pump; the outlet valve of the load pump can be adjusted to control the flow rate of the liquid entering the load pump as well as the power of the load pump; and the input power consumed by the load pump is equal to the output power produced by the pump turbine.
