The invention provides an airspace convective weather information quantification method based on matrix operation, and the method comprises the steps: calculating an airspace structure matrix for a target sector according to a two-dimensional matrix of convective weather data subjected to two-dimensional lattice processing, wherein the airspace structure matrix uses different element values to represent different airspace properties in the target sector; and then in combination with transformation of the spatial domain structure matrix elements, calculating and using convective weather quantitative indexes in the spatial domain for quantitatively describing convective weather intensity and range information in the spatial domain range, wherein the convective weather quantitative indexes comprise coverage rate and intensity of convective weather reflectivity in a target sector. The convective weather information in the airspace is objectively quantified by using matrix operation thinking, quantitative index reference can be provided for air traffic control decisions such as capacity evaluation and flow control strategy making in the airspace, and safe and orderly operation of air transportation under the convective weather condition is guaranteed.
